Schmidt, Eunice M. Schroeder

Eunice M. Schmidt, 88, of Goessel, Kan., died Nov. 16, 2016, at Bethesda Home. She was born July 16, 1928, to Victor and Elma Klassen Schroeder in Goessel.

A lifetime resident of Goessel, she was a homemaker, with her family being the joy of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at age 10 and was baptized at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in 1944. Later she joined Goessel Mennonite Church. She married Wilbert Schmidt on June 13, 1950, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Wilbert; a daughter, Dyann (William) Bockstahler of Homewood, Ill.; a son, Kenley (Susan) Schmidt of Rochester, Minn.; a sister, LaVerna Ediger of Inman; four brothers, Goldwyn Schroeder of Sacramento, Calif., Johnny Schroeder of Hesston, Jimmy Schroeder of Canton and Ira Don Schroeder of Parker, Colo.; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Schmidt.
Burial was in the Goessel Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial services were held at Goessel Mennonite Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Home or Goessel Mennonite Church, both in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel.
